Emerson Creek Pottery has created handcrafted ceramic housewares in the USA since 1977. With our country suffering economically and jobs being scarce, purchasing products made in the USA is very important to me. I was thrilled to be able to review a USA made Honey Jar from Emerson Creek Pottery. Thank you to Emerson for the product to review. This is my honest opinion. Ceramic is one of my favorite types of kitchen ware. I have collected several pieces of pottery and realized my kitchen ware was not complete without a honey jar. Now I can discard the plain glass jars and plastic bear containers of honey sitting on my counter. When my package arrived I found the jar well wrapped and protected with thick brown paper. The lid to the jar came wrapped and taped to the jar along with the wooden honey stick. I have always wanted to try a honey stick and now I have one with my honey jar.

This honey jar is the new 2013 Spring Dogwood design. I love the earth tones and the design and color of this honey jar, it is a work of art. This jar enhances my home decor and I love seeing it on my counter. Emerson has 13 different patterns of hand painted ceramic pottery. It is important to me that all Emerson Creek products are 100% lead free and safe to use in the oven, microwave and dishwasher.

In an effort to be healthier I have recently started substituting honey for sugar in my cooking and eating routine. I am a tea lover and now when I have a cup of tea I can just add a little honey with my honey stick. I no longer have to wash a spoon or open any sticky capped jars. The opening of the honey jar was spacious and I easily poured the honey in. The lid to the honey jar fits nicely and has an opening for the handle of the honey stick.

Over all I found this piece of pottery to be well made and the design is awesome. I love the functionality of the piece and the fact that there is a complete coordinating tea set to match it.
