Costco... I Need Your Help

I have a friend that needs your help. See, she is interested in getting a membership at Costco, but wants to know if it will be worth it.  This is where I need your help. She would like to know:

Does any one know their coupon policy? Priced some stuff and without coupons it's not really a deal plus no coupons=no fun!

Please leave your comments and/or suggestions in the comment section.

Thanks for your help Clippers!!

  1. Costco does not take outside coupons but they do send out thier own ones. With the coupons I sometimes think it's deal. I go there for the organic stuff that really saves me a ton of money when you compare it to the grocery store.

  2. I actually really enjoy my Costco membership. And as the person above stated, they only take their own coupons. They send out a book of them once a month I believe. To be honest, I usually go there for the items in the coupon books, for example apple juice and toilet paper...things my family uses all the time. It's like any store, you just have to be smart about it. The thing I like also, is you can get anything there...for instance they had buy one get one free windshield wiper blades...something I wouldn't imagine buying there but it saved us money. Or another example was Frontline flea medicine for our dog...it was $14 cheaper there. I also take advantage of the gas b/c it is usually 20 cents cheaper. Hope this helps!

  3. I have saved a ton of money with shopping at Costco. There are certain products that I only end up buying a few times a year. Dryer sheets at 500 ct for $8.59 and I only buy them once a year. I buy laundry soap every 3-4 months for $14.99.
I have to drive 1 1/2 hours just to get to a Costco but I do once a month. I will also do all my extra shopping at the same time. You just have to weigh your options.

  4. A costco membership can't be beat. Where else can you get a gallon of milk for $2?? I buy all my staples at costco. Bread, milk, half & half. They also sell some of their own branded items that you can't get anywhere else.

  5. If you buy the executive membership the $100.00 one, you can get 2% back once a year.
usu. that rebate check pays for the next years membership when buy your gas, milk, eggs and well everything it adds up. At some point into the membership year they can tell you what membership is best for you going with your spending habits. Plus if you get the Amex card you also get cash back bonuses from them.

  6. You also must check the unit price of items. On the price tags they will list these lower left hand side. You will find Costco has great deals. Cheese, milk, eggs, bananas are esp. great.
