I just returned from my local Ashtabula, Ohio Sears store very unhappy with my shopping experience and the lack of help from the management I spoke with. It is 7:41 am Thanksgiving morning as I write this.My local ad for Thanksgiving 7 am to Noon on page two had $9.99 Jeans for the Family, Reg. $15.99 to $44.00. No brand names are listed or excluded. I took my purchase to the register,6 pairs of Levi jeans and 2 pair of Lee jeans. My total was over $220.00 not the $80 + tax I expected. The cashier checked the ad and called a manager, Kevin who explained this was only the Canyon River brand on sale. He then went and spoke with Tara, the clothing manager, and returned and stated the Canyon River items were the only ones signed $9.99. I pointed out all other items listed in this ad named the brand featured with the price, example, $9.99 Outer Edge Vest, $12.99 Bubble Jacket from Protection Systems, $16.99 Covington Shoe Booties, ect. This was the worst case of a bold, deceptive advertisement I have ever seen or heard of. I suggested they post a sign stating which brand is featured on the entrances, or they would have several more unhappy customers like myself. My suggestion was met with a blank stare. I believe the sale should have been honored as advertised.
