I love playing games on my iPad, iPhone and iPod touch. I am always up for a challenge!!  Not only do I love the games, my whole family does. For me, it is the peace-keeper when I am in the store. Do you like puzzle games? Ya know... the games that really make you think??? I do and I am here to tell you all about an amazing game that will keep you wanting to beat the next level!!!

Bag It is a puzzle game for iOS and Android platforms. For this review I played the iPhone version of the game. The goal of Bag It is to successfully bag all of the groceries without breaking anything. Some types of groceries aren’t as strong as others, such as eggs, while others, such as watermelons, will crush anything underneath them. All those years of my mom try to teach me how to bag our groceries has officially paid off!  LOL.

Bag It has six different game modes, each consisting of 16 levels. To unlock new modes and levels you need to earn stars and awards. In each level you can earn up to three stars based on your score and two awards for completing various side goals. Some of the side goals want you to bag certain items next to each other, milk and orange juice go together, whereas others require you to complete a level within a certain time limit.

While playing Bag It! you will notice that you can earn medals by creating certain combos during game play, from what I can tell there is a chance to earn two medals on each level. The medals are then used to unlock additional “Aisles” and modes of play.

The basic mode is called “Got Split?” In this mode you just have to bag all the items without breaking more then three. Some of the later levels in this mode give you multiple bags and time limits to increase the difficulty.

The other modes are Udder Mayhem, Fresh Squeeze, Ultimate Bagger, Endless Rampage, and Power Surge. Each mode is extremely different, for example in Udder Mayhem you have to smash as many items as you can within the time limit. Fresh Squeeze is more of a puzzle challenge requiring you to rearrange an already full bag to fit in a few more items without breaking anything.

I highly recommend this game! It's easy enough for my 3 year old to keep her occupied while I shop, fun enough for my 6 year old who isn't concerned about winning... he just likes making matches, and tricky enough to keep both my oldest son and myself going for the medals.

Here's a little info behind the makers of Bag It! Hidden Variable is a small start-up company with only 6 developers.  The developers formerly worked for big name companies such as EA, THQ, and Disney but set out to create their own company doing the thing they love. They have posted that if you write to them with feedback or questions they will personally respond to you and I have found this to be true! I had a question prior to reviewing this and it was answered within a matter of hours by a real person (Thanks Amos!).
