Clipping Money: Strawberry Shortcake Recipe

Strawberry Shortcake Recipe

I made some Strawberry Shortcake the other day and it was so EASY and so YUMMY.
Pour the strawberries into a colander. Wash thoroughly. Core them and slice them in two. Toss into a large bowl.

Add 1/4 C. of sugar to the strawberries and gently mix. The berries should be nicely coated. If not, add more. Add a little lemon juice to draw out the juices of the strawberries.

Cover with Saran Wrap. Let the bowl sit for at least 3 to 4 hours in the fridge. If you need to shorten the time, leave it on the counter. The warmth will speed up the process.

About 5 minutes before you are ready to serve, get your bowl, and put a layer of whipped cream (Cool Whip, Redi Whip or you can make your own) on the bottom, cut out squares of the angle food cake (or you can do slices) and layer some on the bottom. Then scoop some of the strawberries on top of the angle food. Continue with another layer of whipped cream, angle food and then strawberries. Top with the remaining whipped cream and ENJOY!

  1. I made this but added some ingredients. I used the angel food cake and prepared the berries the same way. I added sugar free fat free instant vanilla pudding and some blueberries. I started the layer with the pudding, angel food cake, strawberries and blueberries. I repeated until all was used and I topped with sugar free cool whip. Garnished with a few strawberries. It was very light and delicious easy fast desert.
