Hey guys! I'm sure most of you have heard about storm that hit yesterday. Talk about crazy! The lights were going off and on all throughout the day. We kind of just played along with the kids and when the lights went off we would freeze until they came back on.
Well that game changed when we ate dinner. We were sitting at the table and the lights went out. We froze just to play around but when the lights didn't come back on... It wasn't a game anymore. We got out our flashlights and my Yankee Candle collection out. We finished our tacos by candlelight and started to realize the lights weren't coming back on any time soon.
I made a few attempts to call the power company but the line was busy. I got the kids all bundled up in layers from socks, to pants and hoodies. I tried to call the power company again and this time I got through. They said there's a wide poweroutage and they are not sure when it would get restored. It could take a week. YIKES
We played hide n seek for awhile. That was fun to play in the dark!
We went to be around 10 (which is very early for me). We all felt like sardines in a can by all trying to fit in our bed. At around 2:30am the power flickered on and off but then came on. I heard the heater kick on and saw all the lights back on throughout the house. I got up and turned all the lights off, took the dog out and tucked everyone back in bed. The power didn't last long. At 3am it was out again. SIGH
right now it is 10:13am and we still have no power. We are all layered up and wearing our hats and gloves. My husband is out trying to find a heater and he jokingly asked if I had a coupon for that. Hmmm. I never really looked for one before :(
