My Cake Decorating Skills!!

My Cub Scouts had their Blue & Gold Banquet yesterday. We were asked to make a dessert and decorate it with the theme of a Hawaiian Luau. My boys and I put on our thinking caps and starting tossing ideas around. In the picture are all of their ideas combined into one. It was so much fun to make! Would you believe me if I told you this whole cake only cost me $4.65? Yep, the mix, icing and all the decorations!!

There was a contest for the best decorated dessert and... we won :) The look on my younger sons face was priceless when they called his name. I didn't have the camera ready for his reaction, so I wasn't able to capture it but it's something I won't forget. It was like he just won the lottery. His eyes popped out, jaw hit the floor, he yelled "MOM!!" and wore a BIG smile walking up with his BIG brother. Together they won this medal.

They were so excited to put it in their Cub Scout Shadow Box! 

We just have to take turns sharing it in each box ;)
